The state Сommittee for tourism and sport of Turkmenistan - is formed by the decree of the President in 2000. Created on the basis of the State Tourist Corporation "Turkmensiyakhat" (established in 1994), the committee allowed to solve the problems related with development of tourism and sports of independent Turkmenistan.

Having the ministry status, the committee works over legal base, problems of statistics and the marketing analysis, informing and enlightening of tourism and sport spheres of Turkmenistan.
