On December, 19th 2010 in the capital of  country Al Kuwait where situate  a headquarters of Olympic council  of Asia (OCA), has been signed the bilateral document between the OCA and National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan about carrying out in 2017 in Ashkhabad V Asian games in the closed premises and on fighting arts. The signatures under the document were put the president of Olympic council of Asia by sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al-Sabah and the members of the Turkmen delegation who have arrived to Kuwait on the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Ashkhabad the first in Central Asia region has acquired the right to carrying out of the Asian Games in the closed premises.
«We are glad to sign the contract with Turkmenistan», -  declared the president the OCA sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al-Sabah at ceremony of signing, welcoming purposeful activity of our country for gaining the right to organise Asian Games  in 2017.
He also has underlined, that «OCA recognises the efforts made Turkmenistan and its capital - the city of Ashkhabad where with impatience wait for carrying out of V Asian games in the closed premises and on fighting arts».
In its turn, the Turkmen party has expressed confidence, that Turkmenistan will be able to accept first in the Central Asia the Asian games of 2017 and successfully spend them in Ashkhabad.
Spent under home patronage of Olympic council Asia (OCA) the Asian games in the closed premises gather the best athletes who will compete mainly in 20 kinds of sports. First such Games have taken place in 2005 in Bangkok (Thailand), the second - in 2007 in Macao. The third have passed last year in Vietnam where representatives of our country - footballers played successfully and occupied high 4th place.
Beginning from the next  IV Asian games in the closed premises, they will be hold one time in four years and with addition to the program of competitions on fighting arts. On such expanded programme Asian Games will be hold in 2013 in the Doha (Qatar), and then, after four years, the Asian games in the closed premises and on fighting arts will accept Ashkhabad.
Information received from the capital of Kuwait that Turkmenistan is the first country in Central Asia region has acquired the right to carrying out in 2017 of the Asian games in the closed premises and on fighting arts, has caused a wide resonance in the world and became  a significant event in a life of our country.
The decision of Olympic council of Asia uniting in the numbers of 45 states was bright result spent under a management and at direct participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov of the scale activity directed on wide development of sports and physical training in the country, its integration into the international sports processes. About it was spoken on taken place today in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan a briefing on the occasion of decision-making on granting to Turkmen capital of the right to carrying out of V Asian games in the closed premises and on fighting arts.
Law of a choice of Olympic council of Asia of Ashkhabad capital of the largest continental complex Games needs to be tracked on those huge efforts which were applied for this purpose by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for whom questions of development of physical training and sports are priority in a state policy. Being the vice-premier, it supervised sports questions in the government and became the first initiator of a program problem on carrying out in Turkmenistan the Asian games.
As is known, in the beginning of 2000 in the country bases of qualitatively new approach to the organisation of sports and sports movement have started to be pawned. Already at that time Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov became the initiator and an active conductor of a new sports policy of the state. In particular, it had been organised visits to Turkmenistan representatives of the International Olympic committee, heads of Olympic council of Asia, and other large international sports organisations. At the initiative of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Ashkhabad in 2006 has taken place session of Executive committee of Olympic council of Asia where have been made the decisions aimed at giving to Ashkhabad of the status of one of sports capitals of the world. The strong base of active participation of Turkmenistan in the international Olympic movement has been at that time put in pawn.
From the first days of the election on a post of head of the state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has defined physical training and sports development, a harmonious combination of spiritual and physical potential of the person as one of state policy priorities. As the Chairman of National Olympic committee and being the convinced propagandist of a healthy way of life, the head of the state pays the most steadfast attention to questions of development of mass physical training health-improving movement and sports of the higher achievements.
Evident to volume examples - the World day of health, at the initiative of the Turkmen leader brought in the register of the state holidays. At direct participation and under the guidance of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, long time heading national public health services, it is developed and the state complex program "Health" thanks to which only for the last years in Turkmenistan a number of up-to-date clinics is placed in operation, and also the modern diagnostic world standards modern diagnostic and medical centres is successfully carried out. Besides it, in all velayats of the country are already erected multipurpose stadiums on 10 thousand spectators, being large sports complexes, are under construction everywhere and other various sports objects - hippodromes, autodroms, physical training health-improving complexes.
Real results of strategy of the Turkmen leader aimed at strengthening of health of the nation, - the countries under construction in all corners new schools and the kindergartens, which projects necessarily include sports halls, basketball and volleyball platforms, tennis courts, pools. Fine conditions for productive leisure are provided in the children's health improving centres which one behind another open in resort place Geokdere near Ashkhabad, and also on created on ecologically pure coast of Caspian sea the international sea resort - the National tourist zone «Аvaza» where the artificial river which has become by a fine place of carrying out of competitions on rowing on kayaks and a canoe, sailing regattas is already put into operation. In the near future here will be constructed a ski complex with an ice skating rink and aqua parks. In total during the period till 2020 in Turkmenistan it is planned to construct 119 sports schools and 128 sports facilities.
The powerful impulse in the development has received domestic sports thanks to realised by the head of Turkmenistan the policy of "open doors», wide international cooperation, to carrying out in the country of large international competitions and wider participation of Turkmen sportsmen in Olympic movement. So, participation in summer ХХIХ Olympic Games in Beijing became the important stimulus for our sportsmen. As is known, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has specially arrived to capital of China to be present on solemn ceremony of opening Olympic Games-2008 and personally to address Turkmen Olympians.
As the President of Turkmenistan underlines, the state will do henceforth all necessary for strengthening health of citizens, education of physically tempered, hardworking young generation, development of mass physically training-sports and Olympic movement, creation of optimum conditions for Turkmen sportsmen that they could represent adequately our Native land at the international competitions and by their victories increase its authority.

As it is known, with implementation of a policy of the reforms initiated by the head of the state, sports in Turkmenistan became a bright symbol of ascension on new heights of civil spirit, progress and creation. The motto “in the healthy body is the healthy spirit” found enormous popularity among young generation of Turkmen people in many respects thanking a personal example of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
After all the youth, along with all our compatriots from youth to elders, especially enthusiastically and with the aggravated feeling of pride looked, how the leader of the nation is dashing skips on swift-footed akhal-teke horse, flies on a supersonic fighter, performs on the tank underwater maneuver together with crew, operates a modern high-speed sea boat, drives powerful racing «KAMAZ» through formidable sand, take aloft  the helicopter, rushes on a long distance on a sports bicycle, regularly makes an ascension on a multikilometer track of health.
Following the example of the national leader, our youth does by norm of the life to go in for sports and physical training that helps young men and girls to become not only physically tempered, but also to strengthen the will and persistence in overcoming of any complexities, achievement of new boundaries in study, work, to be improved in the selected trade. Our people are proud also of personal achievements in sport of the leader - President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov possesses one of high ranks of fighting arts of the East - the sixth dan of black belt, which was awarded in the autumn of 2008 by the World federation karate, and also the certificate of the owner of a black belt of 7th degree on taekwondo. As a sign of recognition of high merits before the international sports movement in April of last year the high award of Olympic council of Asia - an honour Award has been handed over the head of Turkmenistan, and this year it has been accepted in honorary members of   whole Japanese federation karate-do.
By the way, during the foreign visits the President of Turkmenistan, as a rule, finds time for active playing sports and interested in experience of development of sports sphere in the countries and the organisation of the largest international competitions. So, it was during visits of the head of the Turkmen state to many countries, including to Germany, Belarus, and Qatar which, by the way, has won recently the demand for World championship carrying out on football of 2022.
Undoubtedly, the decision the OCA about carrying out in Ashkhabad the Asian games in the closed premises and on fighting arts becomes powerful impulse in the accelerated development of physical training and sports in our country. National sports contest on various kinds of sports became good stimulus for youth on a way to health, physical and spiritual self-improvement initiated by the President during an epoch of new Revival. According to the decision of the head of the state, in an orbit of the competitions which are passing under the motto «Turkmenistan - the country of high spirit and health», are involved commands of general educational, initial, middle and high professional educational institutions, the ministries and departments of  the  velayats and city of Ashkhabad.

At the mentioned briefing in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan also it has been informed, that according to the signed document, in the near future in Turkmenistan will be created the Organizing committee on carrying out of Games. It is planned, that competitions will pass on such sports disciplines, as track and field athletics, weightlifting, basketball, volleyball, handball, minifootball, free-style and Greco-Roman wrestling, a judo, taekwondo, goresh, tennis and table tennis, gymnastics, cycling (track) and to other kinds of sports.
«Our duty and a priority - to stimulate and develop sports and Olympic movement, actively involve in it youth, to attach Turkmen people to do physical training since the earliest childhood, to bring up a habit to work, to confirm the values underlying a healthy way of life, diligence and creation», - the head of Turkmenistan underlines.
The Olympic town on which through 7 years will unroll uncompromising duels of the best athletes of Asia urged to serve these purposes.
